MODISMOS EN INGLÉS

Un modismo, o, en inglés, idiom, es una expresión característica de una lengua, formada por un conjunto de palabras con una estructura fija y con un significado que no se puede deducir del significado de las palabras que lo forman.

La expresión ‘en un abrir y cerrar de ojos’ es un modismo del castellano.

La definición de modismo en inglés sería: A group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g., rain cats and dogs, see the light).
